Burke
Burke, Idaho is a ghost town located in Shoshone, Idaho. It was established in the early 1880s and was once a thriving mining town. In its heyday, Burke was home to a number of saloons, restaurants, stores, and even a bank. The town was named after the Burke Mining Company which had a large presence in the area.

Burke was home to over 2,000 people at its peak in the early 1900s. However, the mining industry began to decline in the 1920s, and the population began to dwindle. By the 1940s, only a few hundred people remained.

Today, Burke is a ghost town. The only remnants of the town are a few old buildings, a cemetery, and a few mining-related artifacts. Somehow all of it was squeezed into a very narrow valley making it a very unique ghost town. The town has been abandoned since the 1940s, and it is now a popular tourist attraction. Visitors can explore the abandoned buildings and artifacts, and take in the sights of the old mining town.

Burke is a reminder of a once-thriving mining town. Though it is now a ghost town, it is still a popular tourist destination and a reminder of the town’s rich history.
